Guests of the World Youth Festival visit Kazan

Over 100 young people from 50 countries stopped to familiarize themselves with Kazan Federal University during this past weekend.

They represented Albania, Algeria, Angola, Argentina, Armenia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Benin, Bulgaria, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Brunei, Hungary, Vietnam, Guinea-Bissau, Djibouti, Egypt, Yemen, Jordan, Iran, Spain, Italy, China, Colombia, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Morocco, Nigeria, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Panama, Peru, Russia, El Salvador, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Central African Republic, Republic of Chad, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Sweden, and Sri -Lanka. The delegates were joined by international experts who visited electoral sites during the Russian presidential elections.

The visitors toured Kazan Kremlin, National Library, the city of Innopolis, and several local events.

At KFU, they walked through the History Museum and then listened to Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev‘s presentation. He later mentioned, “The guys showed interest in enrolling in our master’s programs and academic career at KFU. They were also interested in Lobachevsky Program, a new academic mobility initiative for young scientists.”

Head of International Admissions Unit Rauf Sabirov spoke about the enrolment process and Internet resources for international enrollees.

“Many of the participants of the World Youth Festival are already students in their home countries, and they were mainly interested in our short-term programs, including summer and winter schools,” noted Mr Sabirov.
