The Day of Culture of Kyrgyzstan held at MGSU

On March 1, at the site of the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MGSU), the Day of Culture of Kyrgyzstan was held. The Festival was organized by the Kyrgyz community of MGSU with the support of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation. It was timed to coincide with the upcoming spring holiday - Nooruz, as well as the National Flag Day of Kyrgyzstan, which is celebrated on March 3.

An official meeting between the leadership of MGSU and representatives of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation took place before the start of the Festival.

From the Russian side, the meeting was attended by the Rector of MGSU Pavel Akimov, the Vice-Rector Vera Galishnikova, the Deputy Rector Natalya Zhelanova and the Head of International Cooperation Department Olga Makarova.

The delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic included the Minister Counselor of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Russia Aidai Omurkulova, the Counselor of the Kyrgyz Embassy Gulbarchyn Bayimbetova and the press attaché of the Kyrgyz Embassy Nazgul Zhusubakunova.

At a meeting Rector Pavel Akimov spoke about the rich history of the university, its scientific and educational potential and development prospects, taking into account the construction of a world-class campus. Vice-Rector Vera Galishnikova made a presentation of the university, in which she examined in more detail aspects of the educational process and international cooperation of MGSU.

For its part, the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic demonstrated introductory materials about the history of their country, its educational potential and prospects for cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the Russian Federation in this area.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the development of cultural and educational ties between the countries and agreed to expand cooperation in the field of education.

After the business meeting, MGSU administration and representatives of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic headed to the exhibition, where students and craftsmen from Kyrgyzstan presented national clothes, shoes, toys and handmade decorative items. Guests of the festival were able to try dishes and drinks of Kyrgyz cuisine. During the exhibition, the organizers installed a real Kyrgyz yurt in the university hall, where they talked about the Kyrgyz lifestyle and the yurt structure in construction terms.

As part of the concert, which took place in the Assembly Hall of MGSU, guests heard an excerpt from the Kyrgyz epic Manas, music on the national instrument komuz, and also saw theatrical performances based on Kyrgyz works.
