TCU Signed MoU with UTAR of Malaysia

On December 3rd, the signing ceremony on Memorandum of Understanding was held online between Tianjin Chengjian University (TCU) and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) of Malaysia. TCU President LI Zhongxian met with UTAR President Ewe Hong Tat. Executive Director of International Cooperation Office and Dean of School of Architecture from TCU, Directors of Division of Community and International Networking, Deans of Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science, Faculty of Engineering and Green Technology from UTAR attended the meeting and witnessed the virtual signing ceremony.

Two universities introduced their features and recent development. President Ewe Hong Tat underlined that two universities have made great achievements in staff and student exchange as well as joint research on the basis of similar educational concepts. He hoped two universities could share their resources, reinforce links and achieve mutual development.

President LI Zhongxian reviewed cooperation between the two universities and recognized the close connections in staff and student exchange and academic communications. He emphasized Chinese people have respected the concept of "good neighborliness" since ancient philosophy. UTAR is an important partner of TCU in Malaysia. He expressed his wish that two universities could promote the development ideal of mutual exchange and mutual benefit, make due contributions to cultural communications and friendly relations between China and Malaysia and the Asia-Pacific Community with A Shared Future.

Later on, representatives from relevant offices and schools discussed future working plan and finally reached consensus, which opened a new chapter of joint cooperation.

Founded in 2002, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) is a research-oriented comprehensive university recognized by Chinese Ministry of Education. Over 90% students of UTAR are of Chinese origin and most of its courses are delivered in English. UTAR has established partnership with over 290 universities from 30 countries.
