发布时间:2024-03-05

KFU was welcomed by Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev and Director of the Institute of IT and Intelligent Systems Mikhail Abramsky. The meeting was joined by Specialist for Inter-Agency Communication of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation of Cuba Rudens Tembrás Arcia.

The guests toured the History Museum and listened to a presentation by Vice-Rector Alishev. He shared that first ever international students at Kazan University back in 1978 were Cubans.

So far, KFU and UCS experts have co-authored six papers. In 2023, two UCS employees joined KFU’s Summer University project.

Dr Abramsky spoke about his Institute, emphasizing its focus on AI and web programming. He said that elective courses on digital technology start from the sophomore year, and graduates are employed by biggest IT companies.

Mr Peruren was impressed by KFU’s historical path, “I was amazed by your university’s history. You have created history in chemistry, mathematics, politics, and medicine. This all has been in motion towards today for 200 years.”

The UCS Rector invited Alishev, Abramsky, and Rector Linar Safin to his institution and KFU scientists – to UCS conferences.

So far, KFU has been in collaboration with Cuba’s national oil company CUPET and Zarubezhneft in in-situ oil refining at Boca de Jarucia oilfield. The project is supported by Russian Science Foundation.
