KFU delegation starts weeklong visit to China

The delegation comprises Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev, Director of the Institute of IT and Intelligent Systems Mikhail Abramsky, Director of the Institute of Design and Spatial Arts Karina Nabiullina, Deputy Director of the Institute of International Relations Albina Imamutdinova, and representatives of the Preparatory School for International Students. On Monday, the Kazanites visited two universities in Guangdong Province.

At Zhaoqing University, educational programs in visual arts and digital technology were discussed. Russian language courses were also on the agenda. A tentative agreement was reached to open a Russian language center at the institution – it will further be discussed during the Chinese colleagues’ visit to Kazan in early 2024.

The visitors then proceeded to tour the South China University of Technology, a notable center of automotive engineering, digital technology, driverless transport and electric vehicle studies. Student exchange and teacher exchange were talked over, as well as Russian language studies.

As of now, KFU hosts over 2,000 Chinese students and has a number of double diploma programs with Chinese universities. Confucius Institute was established at Kazan University in 2007.
