The Renga Summer School for training teachers who introduce information modeling technologies into the educational process has been held for six years at various venues.

This year, the training program was formed to train and retrain teachers of architectural and construction disciplines who have already studied the Renga system. During the three-day expert course, special attention was paid to the topics of collaboration in Renga, the intricacies of data exchange in the IFC4 format, as well as working with formulas in Renga, which can be used to obtain various calculated values that designers need for reports in the form of specifications, bills of materials or accounting for these values for related tasks.

In addition, time was allocated in the training program to discuss emerging issues, share experience and knowledge on the implementation of BIM in academic disciplines and the use of Renga in educational processes.

The BIM school was organized as a workshop. In the classroom, speakers solve project problems step by step in Renga, and students repeat after them on a PC.

“The participation of software developers in the training of construction industry specialists plays a big role against the current situation with import substitution and the transition of design companies to domestic solutions. I am glad that our university has been chosen as a platform for such training,” said Denis Nizhegorodtsev, director of the SPbGASU LDBIM.

Upon completion of training, participants of the Renga Summer School receive certificates of advanced training from SPbGASU.
