On December 26, the 2023 End-of-Year Meeting for International Development was held by BUCEA in Jianben Lecture Hall at Daxing Campus. LI Junqi, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee of BUCEA and Vice President, ZHU Jing, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee of BUCEA and Vice President, WEI Chuyuan, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee of BUCEA, Director of the Publicity Department and Director of the Network Information Management and Service Center, heads of schools and departments, and representatives of Chinese and international faculty members and students were gathered to celebrate everyone’s accomplishments and identify opportunities for improvement. The meeting was moderated by DING Shuai, Deputy Dean of International Development Research Institute.

In the opening session of the “Chinese and International Student Cultural Talent Show”, Pakistani international student Rizwan Ali Abrar amazed the audience with an enchanting song “Paradise”. Iranian international students, Ehteshami Yasamin Sadat, Mohammadi Niloofar, Dolatkhah Farnaz, Boroomand Borhaneddin, and Amir Mohammadisepasi, presented exotic Iranian folk dances. WAN Jinyu, NAI Feisha and ROU Bina of the Student International Exchange Association ignited the enthusiasm of the venue with their guitar playing and jazz dance performance.

Prof. JIANG Jie, Executive Dean of International Development Research Institute, introduced the progress of international development of BUCEA in 2023 and the key work plan in 2024 from the aspects of promoting high-level international talent cultivation, expanding the international cooperation network, making breakthroughs in the construction of international scientific research platforms, as well as upgrading the standardization and informatization of management services of foreign affairs.

University leadership and heads of schools and departments presented the certificates of “2023 Outstanding Volunteers of the Student International Exchange Association”, “2023 Scholarship for Student Overseas Exchanges”, “2023/2024 Scholarship for International Students”, and “2023 BUCEA Outstanding Contribution Award for International Development”.

In his concluding speech, Vice President LI Junqi congratulated all the award-winning teachers and students, and expressed his heartfelt thanks and great respect to all of them for their hard work for the international development of the university in the past year. He briefly introduced the fruitful achievements of BUCEA’s international development in 2023 from three aspects: the steady progress of international talent cultivation, the further broadening of the international cooperation network, and the key breakthrough in international innovation cooperation. It is hoped that in 2024, BUCEA will further understand the importance and necessity of internationalization for the development of the university, and that all schools and departments will cooperate efficiently and synergistically, plan proactively and act positively to explore international cooperation resources, build international cooperation platforms, develop cooperation and exchange projects, and keep on improving the quality of international talent cultivation and the level of scientific and technological innovation. He also encouraged all the faculties and students to work hand in hand to make new achievements and breakthroughs in the international development of BUCEA in 2024.
