The results were announced at The Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit. A jury chaired by Prof. Aleksandra Przegalińska made their choice from among the 100 previously recognized AI specialists. This way, the winners were selected in ten categories (Fighting AI bias, Ethical AI, AI Leadership, AI Research, AI Entrepreneur, AI Rising Star, AI Promoter, Young AI enthusiast, AI in Culture and AI for change) and one special distinction (Distinguished Mentor in AI) was awarded.

Maria Ganzha, an Associate Professor at the Warsaw University of Technology and at the Systems Research Institute PAS (recommended by the National Information Processing Institute - National Research Institute), received the award in the AI Research category.

The researcher is the author of nearly 200 scientific articles. She is on the editorial boards of five journals and publication series. She is the President of the Mazovian Branch of the Polish Information Processing Society, the oldest organization representing Polish computer scientists, and a co-organizer of the International Conference on Computer Science and Intelligent Systems (FedCSIS), which was recently included in the CORE list (B ranking) and received 70 points in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education's parametric assessment.

Prof. Ganzha has been involved in artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) research and various initiatives for many years. She is currently the technical coordinator of the ASSIST-IoT project ('Architecture for Scalable, Self-human-centric, Intelligent, Secure, and Tactile next generation IoT'), which is financed by the European Union's Horizon 2020 program. She has previously led the INTER-IoT project (it consisted of designing, implementing and testing a framework for the communication of various IoT platforms). Our expert will soon face a new challenge as the leader of the SRI PAS team in the aerOS project.
