Cooperation agreement signed between UNS and BUCEA after a successful bid for the 2020 China-CEEC Joint Education Project

With the aim to intensify and enrich the quality of educational and scientific cooperation between the University of Novi Sad and the Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA), the two universities organized an online signing ceremony of the bilateral Agreement on Cooperation on December 16, 2020.

The Agreement was signed on behalf of the institutions by the Rector of the University of Novi Sad, Prof. Dr. Dejan Jakšić and the Rector of the Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture Prof. Dr. Zhang Ailin. On behalf of the University of Novi Sad, the event was also attended by Prof. Dr. Dejan Madić, Vice Rector for International Relations, Prof. Dr. Darko Stefanović, Vice-Dean for Science and International Cooperation of the Faculty of Technical Sciences, Assist. Prof. Dr. Marko Vilotić, Faculty of Technical Sciences and Ivana Vujkov, Head of the Office for International Cooperation of the University.

This document formalizes the framework for future cooperation in the field of education and research, including student exchange and training, as well as exchange of teaching staff.

The signing of the Cooperation Agreement was preceded by the participation of representatives of the Faculty of Technical Sciences of the University of Novi Sad at the 2019 Conference of the Belt and Road Architectural University International Consortium (BRAUIC), held in October 2019 in Moscow.

In addition, the International Development Research Institute of the Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture and the Faculty of Technical Sciences of the University of Novi Sad signed a program agreement with the aim to collaborate to apply for the 2020 China-CEEC Joint Education Project under the topic of “Remote Sensing Monitoring of the Eco-environment of Cities along the China-Europe Railways Based on Artificial Intelligence”, based on the 2020 China-CEEC Joint Education Project of Institutions of Higher Education funded by the China Education Association for International Exchange.

Furthermore, ten students from the University of Novi Sad participated in the international summer school of the Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture in August 2020.

The new Cooperation Agreement between the University of Novi Sad and the Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture offers a framework of opportunities to strengthen the cooperation established so far, as well as to expand the bilateral cooperation toward new contents and areas of mutual interest.
