Hello, honorable President Zhang Ailin and all colleagues!

At such a special time today, we gather together in the campus of beautiful Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture. If as expressed by Chinese poets, it is that good rain knows the reason, falling in Beijing silently, and the International Consortium is having their voice in the rustling autumn rain. I just want to talk about how we should have more exchanges, by taking the working method of international exchange of our school as an example. I want to introduce several aspects about it.

First, international cooperation channel should be opened positively to absorb domestic and abroad education resources, and inter-university exchange should be carried out continuously and substantially. As for the international exchange, our school especially wishes to learn from excellent international universities. We have sent teachers to University of Miami of U.S.A, The University of Sheffield of UK, University of Technology Sydney of Australia, Politecnico di Milano of Israel, and they sent teachers to us too, and we also exchange university running experience. Besides, we wish to exchange with universities along the Belt and Road as possible as we can, especially school with the same school industry characteristics. We had students exchange with Moscow State University of Civil Engineering of Russia, Saint Petersburg State University, Don State University, and now we still have student exchange with them. Moreover, we also had similar exchange with the middle and eastern Europe by taking advantage of such a resource, like our exchange with Romania, etc.

We also especially wish we can walk out and invite others in for exchange. We have international education, and now there are already more than 700 hundred foreign students in our university, which requires the internationalization of our teachers, therefore, we send teachers overseas for study, and we also invited foreign teachers to our university through cooperation. Each year, we sent out dozens of teachers, and there is corresponding policy for sure, like we wish there is international content in the assessment and completion process for the assessment, employment and promotion of teachers. Therefore, in our specific project, we also pay attention to completing regional training, like the information postgraduate class with the joint cultivation between us and USA carried out 13 terms of cultivation, cultivating 858 students. Many of them worked on the leadership posts already. This shows we had long operation time and cultivated a lot of students during the international university running. Besides, we also had 15 years cooperation with WISMAR University of Germany. And Wismar University also wishes to promote the international talent cultivation of us with the promotion of the Belt and Road strategy, and our international exchange increases gradually. Actually, during the student exchange, we especially wish our students can walk out, and make the enable to have mutual culture identity through the exchange among students. We wish these exchange activities will be more frequent and more powerful. For example, in the student exchange, we pay special attention to the construction of international school running system, to make students increase mutual culture identity through the identity of mutual teaching contents of mutual schools. These are what we have achieved and we think we should do in the cooperation.

We also have mutual exemption of tuition practice, and support the students in their life, which makes the project enable to continue. And we also get the funding of China, Germany, Romania and other countries. What is special is that we also win the funding of Erasmus Mundus Programme, which makes this project more sustainable. This makes the Germany envoy pay special attention to our cooperation project after he came.

We also wish we can have scientific and technological cooperation during the cooperation and promote the students’ internship and scientific and technological research through the cooperative project of scientific research. For example, there are two international cooperation projects in our school, one is the energy saving house with a Finland university, and the other is also an energy saving project with Germany which wins the support of the government and has been endowed with certain demonstrative content by the two governments. We also wish students can understand each other’s language and culture for mutual understanding and further exchange in the process of mutual exchange. For example, with the support of Hanban of the state, we established Confucius Institute and Confucius Classroom, which makes there is interaction between the student and the teacher every year, and we also obtained the project of scholarship of Hanban of the state. They come here every year for summer camping activity.

We hope to establish long term development mechanism of overseas students, highlights the education characteristics of overseas students, fully develop the overseas students education in China all round. That is why we wish the international exchange to be more frequent. For example, we also got the funding of the Silk Road, and Chinese government, as well the provincial government of Liaoning, especially the special scholarship for students from middle and Eastern Europe. With these scholarships, we wish the students exchange can be carried on smoothly and frequently. By far, we have had exchanges with many countries on many projects. I believe all of your schools also had a lot of exchanges. However, just like the purpose of our Consortium, we are further expanding the exchange among us on the current basis of international exchange, which will expand the exchange basis bigger. I am also very willing to represent our school to further expand exchange with the president of each university with which I signed agreement today. I wish with mutual projects of each other, the students and teachers exchange can be carried out in real sense to make our architectural universities stand out in the education circle, to be able to develop better. I also welcome your students to Shenyang Jianzhu University and our school will provide a good study and exchange opportunity for all the students.
