Background
On October 10, 2017, the Belt and Road Architectural University International Consortium (BRAUIC) was founded in Beijing, with the aim to take science & technology projects and technological innovation as the focus, and build platforms for universities from different nations to coordinate innovation efforts, so as to stimulate the exchanges of capital, products, personnel and service among different countries. The founding members include 44 universities from 19 countries such as Russia, Poland, France, the United States, and the United Kingdom, etc.
Nature and Purpose
Under the principle of “equality and free will, openness and sharing, win-win cooperation, and innovative development”, the BRAUIC is voluntarily organized for non-profit strategic cooperation. It is committed to making breakthroughs in the cultivation of high-quality international engineering and technological talents, contributing to the urban-rural development of the countries along the Belt and Road, taking S&T projects and technological innovation as the focus, and building platforms for universities from different nations to coordinate innovation efforts, so as to stimulate the exchanges of capital, products, personnel and service among different countries, and to encouraging staff and students' mobility, jointly organizing various academic conferences, S&T competitions, cultural, arts and sports activities, etc. and carrying out activities to promote the Chinese language.
Members
On October 10, 2017, the Belt and Road Architectural University International Consortium (BRAUIC) was established at Beijing University of Civil Engineering & Architecture with 44 universities around the world voluntarily joining the BRAUIC. From 2018 to 2022, another 30 universities have joined the BRAUIC and will take part in BRAUIC activities as member institutions. The members include:
