IDEATE, INVENT AND INNOVATE IN ATU-NET GLOBAL TECHNOVATION HACKATHON 2022 (ATU-Net GTech 2022)

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in collaboration with Asia Technological University Network (ATU-Net) with great pleasure is calling all students to the ATU-Net Global Technovation Hackathon 2022 (ATU-Net GTech 2022), which will be launched virtually on 5th August 2022 (Friday).

All students from ICT, Engineering, Management, and Business academic backgrounds are welcome to participate in ATU-Net GTech 2022. Themed “Harnessing Innovation to Combat Climate Change”, ATU-Net GTech 2022 will be conducted in hybrid mode, of which finalists will be competing at UTM, Malaysia physically for the final sprint. ATU-Net GTech 2022 is a collaborative work with industries and will feature prominent webinar speakers of various fields.

The hackathon programme is an innovative competition in tackling the current issues that our world is facing, of which selected topics include issues in energy, urban forest and open space, transportation and land use, and water and solid waste management. Students will be assigned into groups with students from other institutions and countries to work on a prototype to help curb the chosen issue. Along with this, students will be prepped with webinars and mentoring to guide them to become the champion.

About the dates, 5th of August is the pre-launching ceremony followed where students will be given a case study by the industry partner, followed by the preparatory webinars and 1st evaluation from September until October. All these sessions will be done virtually until and only then, the shortlisted finalists will be competing physically in Malaysia for final pitch and evaluation. So, the 5 August is the start date and it will end on 18 November 2022.
