福州大学是国家“双一流”建设高校、国家“211工程”重点建设大学、福建省人民政府与国家教育部共建高校。学校创建于1958年，现已发展成为一所以工为主、理工结合，理、工、经、管、文、法、艺等多学科协调发展的重点大学。学校深入开展对外合作交流，与境外50个国家、地区的140多所高校、科研机构和知名企业建立了合作关系，学校积极对接国家“一带一路”倡议，建立国际科教合作交流平台。

Brief Introduction:

Fuzhou University (FZU) is a national key university designated as a “National Double First-Class” University Project institution and a “National 211 Project” institution. The development of the university is supported jointly by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Fujian Provincial People’s Government. Founded in 1958 with a focus on engineering, FZU has now developed into a key university that specialises in engineering and science and supports the study of a wide spectrum of disciplines covering science, engineering, economics, management, humanities, law and the arts. The university is pro-active in developing external co-operation and exchanges. FZU has also forged partnerships with over 140 overseas universities, research institutes and famous enterprises in 50 countries and regions. The university is also actively involved in the national Belt and Road Initiative, building a platform for international co-operation and exchanges in science and education.
