简介/Brief Introduction:
学校始建于1923年4月，是一所具有爱国主义光荣传统的大学。1928年8月至1937年1月，著名爱国将领张学良将军兼任校长。1931年“九一八”事变后被迫流亡办学，先后辗转于北平、西安、开封、四川三台等地，在“一二·九”运动中，东大师生发挥了先锋队和主力军的重要作用。1949年3月，在东北大学工学院和理学院(部分)的基础上成立沈阳工学院。1950年8月，定名为东北工学院，1993年3月，复名为东北大学。1997年1月，原沈阳黄金学院并入东北大学。1998年9月划转为教育部直属高校，是国家首批“211 工程”“985 工程”重点建设高校，2017年入选国家首轮世界一流大建设高校，2022年入选国家第二轮“双一流”建设高校。
Founded in April 1923, Northeastern University is a university with the glorious tradition of patriotism. from August 1928 to January 1937, General Xueliang Zhang, a famous patriotic general, served as the president of Northeastern University. 1931, after the September 18th Incident, Northeastern University was forced to go into exile to run a school, and it has moved around in Beiping, Xi'an, Kaifeng, and Santai of Sichuan Province, and played an important role as a vanguard and main force during the "12-9" movement. "In March 1949, on the basis of the College of Engineering and College of Science (part) of Northeastern University, Shenyang Institute of Technology was established. in August 1950, it was named Northeastern Institute of Technology, and in March 1993, it was renamed Northeastern University. in January 1997, the former Shenyang Gold Institute was merged into Northeastern University, and the former Shenyang Gold Institute was merged into Northeastern University. In January 1997, the former Shenyang Gold College merged into Northeastern University.In September 1998, it was transferred to the Ministry of Education directly under the university, is the first batch of "211 project", "985 project" key construction universities, in 2017, was selected for the first round of the country's first round of construction of world-class universities, and in 2022, was selected for the second round of the country's first round of construction of world-class universities. In 2017, it was selected as one of the first round of world-class university construction universities, and in 2022, it was selected as one of the second round of "double first-class" construction universities.
