"This is my third visit to SUM. Every time I'm here, I feel at home. The rich cultural heritage and the friendly enthusiasm of the teachers and students of this University give me many wonderful feelings", said the ambassador. He added that SUM supports teaching concepts in which students always come first.

"In China, we share the same educational thought that is the basis of our cooperation. Since Mostar is known for its bridge, the University of Mostar has become an important bridge connecting our two countries. I hope that this cooperation will contribute to an even stronger connection", said Ji Ping.

Rector of SUM Zoran Tomić said that the University of Mostar would like to thank the ambassador in this way for the exceptional contribution and influence invested in connecting the University with related universities, institutes, research network centres and business entities in the People's Republic of China.

"We are witnesses to the fact that you have made several working visits to SUM and that you have been very involved in connecting our two friendly countries and academic institutions," said the rector. He especially thanked for the connection and the open possibility of cooperation with the Confucius Institute, as well as for financing the lecturer in Chinese who has been working at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences for years.

"We believe that science and education can encourage the development of our society, but also of the whole world. They can connect us, bring us closer and give us new opportunities. With your example and the extended hand of cooperation, as a representative of the most powerful economy in the world, you have shown us the way of cooperation as the best way to change the world together and create new perspectives of development", said the Rector.

At the end, he emphasized that the goal of today's meeting is to send a message of unity in changes that will bring peace, security, well-being and personal happiness to every person.

"There is no better place for such wishes and such messages than academic institutions and academic space. That is why today, we here at SUM, through you, Mr. Ambassador, are connected with all our academic partners in the People's Republic of China in the desire to teach people together", Rector Tomić concluded. At the beginning of today's ceremony, Željko Knezović, a student of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Mostar who attends the elective course Basics of the Chinese Language, greeted everyone present in Chinese.
