The internship program is being implemented under an agreement between Kazan Federal University and the Science Financing and Innovation Support Foundation under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
KFU’s leading research facilities are now available to young professionals. Internships are held at the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology, the University Clinic, the Institute of Chemistry, and the Naberezhnye Chelny Institute. With the support of the IFMB, internships were organized for medical professionals at major local clinics – the Republican Clinical Hospital and the Republican Clinical Oncological Hospital.
KFU’s International Office organized a program to introduce the university to guests from Uzbekistan. The interns visited the Kazan University History Museum, where they were able to learn about one of the oldest universities in Russia, after which they met with the university’s leadership.
Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev presented KFU’s strategic development directions to the guests, describing the university’s scientific potential and infrastructure.
“The internship program is designed to deepen scientific cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan. KFU is ready to share its advanced scientific practices, providing access to its leading research laboratories and the expertise of leading specialists,” he noted.
Vice-Rector for Continuing Education Ilnur Khairullin discussed opportunities for additional professional education, as well as the admission and postgraduate program requirements at KFU.
Program participants expressed their gratitude to the university’s leadership for the high level of organization of the internships. They noted KFU’s modern facilities and confirmed their interest in further collaboration with their Kazan colleagues.
“My internship is intensive, yet very well structured. Theory is immediately reinforced by practice, which enhances the effectiveness of the training. It’s convenient to have constant access to materials and quick feedback from the instructors,” says Jamshir Uzakov, a physician at the Navoi Regional Branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Endocrinology.
“The friendliness of our Kazan colleagues is a pleasant surprise. From the first days of our internship, Nail Bariev [Senior Lecturer in the Department of Surgery and Head of the Republican Clinical Oncology Center of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan – Editor’s note] became our mentor. Since then, every door in the clinic’s operating rooms has been open to us. The professionalism of the local anesthesiologists is impeccable; their approach changes the way we view our specialty. Special thanks to our supervisor, Elvira Zakirova, for her care and for handling all organizational issues,” shares Oibek Muminov, an anesthesiologist and assistant at the Central Asian Medical University.
Last month, a professional development program was implemented for teachers of higher education institutions and specialists from centers of pedagogical excellence in the Republic of Uzbekistan at the Institute of Psychology and Education of KFU.
