Recently, a delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Uganda to the Russian Federation visited the Kazan University’s History Museum. The delegation was led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uganda, Mr. Moses Kawaaluuko Kizige.

University President Riyaz Minzaripov welcomed the guests. They were given a tour of the History Museum, including the Emperor Ballroom and the Lenin Auditorium.

Yana Evdokimova, Deputy Director of the International Office, also gave a presentation at the meeting. She outlined the milestones in the history of Kazan University. It is important to note that KFU is one of the oldest universities in Russia. It comprises 17 institutes, one faculty, and 415 teaching laboratories. Currently, Kazan Federal University employs over 10,000 staff members and has 55,000 students, including over 13,000 international students. Furthermore, KFU is the only Russian university with a modern digital planetarium and its own astronomical observatories.

Ambassador Kizige expressed his admiration for the university’s history.

“Only by visiting the Russian Federation will you understand how much you can learn here,” the Ambassador said.

He also emphasized the Republic of Uganda’s willingness to cooperate with Kazan Federal University. There are currently two Ugandan nationals enrolled in KFU.

“Russian-African cooperation is growing and expanding in scale. Many graduates of our universities work in this country in particular. Therefore, such visits and interactions contribute to greater mutual understanding, mutual respect, and the development of further cooperation. This is important for us, as we are one of the leading Russian universities,” Riyaz Minzaripov emphasized.
