发布时间:2023-04-06

Genomic and phenotypic tools have been significantly improved over the past few years and have been included in the research and breeding programs of many crops.

Kazakhstan, being a major producer of cereals, oilseeds and legumes, is still lagging behind in the development and application of such new technologies. The purpose of this international visit and seminar is to identify and discuss the current state of application of genomic tools with an emphasis on crop production in Kazakhstan, as well as prospects for establishing international cooperation and joint projects to expand research and create varieties.

International participants of the seminar are Head of the Agrotechnology Project Center of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology Professor Genzbittel Laurent, Head of the International Breeding and Genetic Center of Omsk State Agrarian University Shamanin V.P. and representative of the International Breeding and Genetic Center Ben Cecil.

In the seminar essential topics discussed such as "Grain breeding in Kazakhstan", "Assistance in providing solutions for the agri-food industry", "Full-genome selection of legumes", "Crop production in Kazakhstan and priorities of breeding and genomic research", "System of variety testing and zoning of varieties in the Republic of Kazakhstan".
