A Glimpse of Global Campus: Exchange Program 2022

Launched by the Belt and Road Architectural University International Consortium (BRAUIC) in 2021, the Global Campus: Exchange Program for Summer Schools is a public learning platform to promote the member universities’ sharing of quality resources and to boost their collaboration in improving academic standard and international presence. Students from member universities are provided with tuition-free/-reduction places, learning and having fun with students from all over the world on the global campus.

Global Campus: Exchange Program for Summer Schools 2022 includes 16 projects offered by 9 universities, benefiting 403 students from 74 universities in 32 countries.

Program: Best Major Online Summer Camp (ONLINE)

Host University: Qingdao University of Technology, China

Participating Universities: Qingdao University of Technology, National Research Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, Novi Sad University, University of Donja Gorica, University of Mostar

Dates: July 18-25, 2022

Introduction:

The first Best Major Online Summer Camp in English organized by Qingdao University of Technology (QUT) was made by "China, Shandong, Qingdao, Qingdao University of Technology", " Infrastructure Made in China ", "Water in China", "Beautiful City, Beautiful Life" and "Intelligent and Green Manufacturing in China". The summer camp attracted more than 300 students and teachers from the universities at home and abroad, such as the Russian Federation, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia. The participants learnt more about the history and traditional culture about China, especially the best majors of QUT, international cooperation projects and major scientific research achievements were introduced.

Introduction:

Experts from international universities and ISPRS are invited to give lectures to the students and young technicians so to provide them with innovative practical and methodological knowledge and skills on robustness, rapidity, redundancy, resourcefulness of city and sustainable development plan. In addition to the regular courses, a variety of cultural practice activities are arranged. The summer school promotes the multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary and multi-level communication among students from different countries and regions.

Introduction:

This one-week program is mainly designed for international students who are interested in Chinese Language and Culture. Through thematic practical Chinese courses and Chinese culture courses, the participants can quickly master several topics in Chinese. In addition, students can intuitively understand the reality of contemporary Chinese society and several interesting knowledge of Chinese culture.

Introduction:

The International GeoInformatics Summer School (IGSS) offers motivated university students, researchers and technicians an international and strongly academic summer session where outstanding lecturers and young talents meet to explore new ideas. 2022 International GeoInformatics Summer School (Online) is themed as Smart Earth, covering diverse lectures such as satellite research & development, satellite date receiving & processing, remote sensing and life, digital cultural heritage, etc.


Program: Summer School: Recent development on financial crime, corruption and money laundering: European and international perspectives (ONLINE)

Introduction: 

The Research Institute for Transparency, Corruption and Financial Crime (RITCFC), Faculty of Law - Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), through the Center for Education and Lifelong Learning of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, will host an intensive 6-day summer school on recent developments in the fields of financial crime, corruption and money laundering at a national, European and international level, for participants who wish to advance their knowledge in the area.

The 6-day intensive courses will focus on ongoing developments of key issues in combating international fraud, corruption and money laundering, international and European anti-fraud mechanisms and procedures, etc. Recent developments to be discussed will include, inter alia, the directive on fraud against the EU financial interests, the Regulation on the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Criminal Law Anti-Money Laundering Directive, offshore companies, cyber money, corruption, asset recovery and confiscation, the developments towards an E-Evidence Regulation, tax crime etc.

The summer school will be delivered in a hybrid format, with the option to attend in person or online, taught with the help of a simultaneous teleconferencing system, so that the participants will have the chance to interact and participate in the discussion.

Introduction:

Jewelry is historically one of the forms of expression of a culture. In the digital age, this discipline adapts and transforms, and the boundary between art object and costume trend becomes very blurred. Whether one designs a limited-edition piece of jewelry or an entire fashion jewelry collection, digital design is now obligatory. During the summer workshop, we will walk through the basics of digital jewelry design using organic modelling and parametric design, with an eye on digital fabrication and especially 3D printing.

Upon the completion, students will obtain relevant certificate, academic reference letter, transcripts, etc.

Introduction:

The practice-based courses not only allow students to learn the fundamental knowledge and skills of two-dimension design and colour theory but also facilitate them to cultivate individual creativity. In addition to valuing the exploration of creativity, the courses aim to enhance students’ understanding of the visual language of design through hands-on experience. In this context, students will learn how to apply the visual elements of design, visual organization, and composition principles to their creative. Moreover, students’ analytical and critical-thinking capabilities are expected to be improved through course taking, hands-on practice, and commenting on artworks. The courses will also introduce design and visual thinking capabilities, paving the way for students to learn visual communication design and pursue art.

Upon the completion of courses, students are able to:

● identify the composition of visual works through the relationship between art and design elements;

●  determine strategies and concepts by design principles and the colour theory;

●  use hands-on skills to develop their creativity;

●  present and communicate with various strategies, and evaluate the solving process of the creative problems in the work completion;

●  use art and design terms to appreciate, evaluate, and comment on artworks.


Program: Summer School NTO4: Carbon Neutrality—Green, Circular, New Energy and Sustainable (ONLINE)

Introduction:

The course mainly aims to provide comprehensive knowledge of carbon neutrality from the perspective of technology, science, and the economy. Upon completion of the course, students are able to:

●  quantify carbon storage related to global warming;

●  quantify the impact of fossil energy production on carbon flux;

●  not only master the basic knowledge, strengths, and weaknesses of main renewable energy, but also evaluate its development prospect considering technological challenges, future supply and other factors;

●  not only master the basic knowledge, strengths, and weaknesses of nuclear energy, nuclear fission, and nuclear fusion, but also evaluate the development prospect considering technological challenges, future supply, safety, political factors, challenges brought by the public opinions, and other factors;

●  master solutions to energy storage at present and in the future;

● assess the feasibility of different energy under the background of carbon neutrality;

●  assess the best energy combination in regional scope.


Program: Summer School NTO5: Urban Planning and Architecture Design (ONLINE)

Introduction:

The course offers a platform for you to learn Singapore’s sustainable urban development and comprehensive urban planning, the principles of land utilization planning, the public housing management system, and the mechanism with which a comprehensive project can be successfully developed. In addition, the course deals with the construction sector and the buildability issue of construction projects.

The course aims to give an overall introduction to the policies and framework in Singapore’s sustainable urban development and comprehensive urban planning, by sharing the policies and system of city and town planning and its development mechanism as a modern city-state. The students will learn the experience of Singapore’s successful urban planning and get to know how the private housing market plays a supporting role. Besides, the students will study the concepts in drafting a general planning, and discuss relevant topics about land utilization planning, the buildability of buildings and funding model with the aim of ensuring environmental sustainability in construction.

Introduction:

Starting from the concepts and scope of the metaverse, we are to analyse the inevitable trend of its development from a philosophical perspective, and make some preliminary discussions on the basis of time and space, physics and mathematics. When it comes to application, the topics of integrating the Metaverse with Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, digital twins, 3D printing, simulations and serious games, FinTech, digital revolution, etc. are to be covered and analyzed in detail, with the aid of advanced industrial projects. At the end of the program, an outlook of some prospective developments will be presented.

After the program, the students will have a deeper understanding of VR, AI, digital twins, smart applications, human-machine interaction (HMI), digital technology, FinTech and other fields relating to the Metaverse. The students will have access to cutting-edge technology across the world, cultivate a global vision, enhance their professional thinking ability, and obtain general guidance and specific assistance for specialized learning and scientific research in the future.

Groups will be formed among participants as a platform to help solve real life problems faced by the community. With an increased engagement between participants, facilitators, and the community, a more impactful experience will be achieved. It becomes even more attractive because at the end of the program, all participants will have an opportunity to present their project and ideas which were developed during the course of the program in front of a wider audience.

Introduction:

The program is hosted by the Faculty of Modern Greek Language of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Since its founding in 1970, the Faculty has always been offering foreigners modern Greek language courses, holding the examinations for the Certificate of Modern Greek Language Knowledge, and organizing professional training activities and various seminars.

Introduction:

Specially designed for students and young researchers in the field of civil engineering and architecture, this summer school provides you with a unique opportunity to get acquainted with various aspects of life and creativity in a large city with a rich cultural and architectural heritage, explore the transformation of former industrial zones and create your own architectural concept for a real place in Saint Petersburg.

The summer course consists of two parts. During the first week students get acquainted with the Saint Petersburg architecture by making trip sketches during plein-air painting, the second week is devoted to independent work on the project.
