北京科技大学，是中华人民共和国教育部直属的全国重点大学、是“双一流”建设高校、国家“211 工程”和“985 工程优势学科创新平台”建设高校教育部首批“三全育人”综合改革试点高校、首批北京市深化创新创业教育改革示范高校。目前，学校已发展成为一所以工为主，工、理、管、文、经、法等多学科协调发展的教育部直属全国重点大学。

学校土木工程专业起源于 1952 年建校时的岩石力学教研组，获批“土木工程”和“力学”两个博士一级学科、“土木工程”博士后流动站，“土木工程”获评国家一流本科专业，“工程力学”和“岩土工程”两个北京市重点学科，连续两次通过住建部土木工程专业评估。

Brief Introduction:

University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) is a key national university affiliated to the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. As one of the most distinguished universities, USTB has been incorporated into many top-university developing plans, including the "National 211 Project," and the "985 Advanced Engineering Innovation Platform". The major of Civil Engineering at USTB originated from the Teaching and Research Group of Rock Mechanics when the university was founded in 1952. It was granted two first-tier doctoral disciplines: "Civil Engineering" and "Mechanics" and a Civil Engineering postdoctoral mobile research station. It was also awarded the "Top Undergraduate Major." Its two branches, Engineering Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, were awarded "Key Major Branches of Beijing." The Major of Civil Engineering has also passed the evaluation held by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development two consecutive times.
