On the morning of March 28, seven delegates from Russian Highways State Company (Avtodor) visited the Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA). The two sides held a MOU signing ceremony on the Xicheng Campus of BUCEA, which was attended by CHEN Hongbing, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and Vice President of BUCEA, Vyacheslav Petushenko, Chairman of the Board of Avtodor, and Igor Koval, First Deputy Chairman of the Board for Investment Policy of Avtodor.

CHEN Hongbing mentioned in his speech that, standing at the new historical starting point of China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era, the cooperation between Avtodor and BUCEA would embrace broad development prospects. The official signing of the MOU by the two sides was to leverage the role of technological exchanges and project cooperation as bonds to keep close contact, consolidate cooperation foundations, and expand cooperation areas. He invited Avtodor to join the Belt and Road Architectural University International Consortium (BRAUIC), so as to jointly build an open cooperation platform under the BRAUIC, and make contributions to helping Russia and China deepen win-win cooperation in scientific and technological innovation and enhance exchanges among talents within the industry.

Vyacheslav Petushenko said that Avtodor was the first Russian state company to visit China since Chinese President Xi Jinping paid the state visit to Russia and they attached great importance to their cooperation with BUCEA. He hoped that on the basis of continuing to deepen China-Russia technological communication in highway construction, the two sides could promote in-depth China-Russia cooperation in smart transport, building technology, and other areas by jointly carrying out technological communication, holding professional forums, and organizing student exchanges activities. Vyacheslav Petushenko strongly agreed Vice President Chen’s proposal that Avtodor joins the BRAUIC. Meanwhile, he sincerely invited BUCEA’s delegations to visit Russia and promote bilateral cooperation to yield more fruitful outcomes.

Vyacheslav Petushenko and other delegates visited the Earthen Architecture Lab and interacted with BUCEA students on the general situation of highway construction in Russia. The delegation had cordial exchanges with Russian students at BUCEA and hoped they applied the knowledge and technologies they learned to the practical construction of China and Russia when they graduated.

After the meeting, Konstantin Mogilnyy, CEO of Avtodor-Engineering LLC, Russian Honorary Road Worker, and Winner of Russian Federation National Award “Medal of Friendship”, gave an impressive report entitled “Russian Highways State Company Prospective Projects Activities” to students of relevant schools on the Daxing Campus.
