In the period from 14 to 16 November, 2023, the delegation of the S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University headed by Chairman of the Board-Rector Tireuov K.M. visited the Northwestern University of Agriculture and Forestry in Yangli, China.
The main purpose of the visit was to discuss and agree on mechanisms for implementing joint tasks set for the two universities by the presidents of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People's Republic of China. On May 17, 2023, the heads of the two states signed a number of Agreements, among which 23 Agreement relates to the cooperation between KATRU and NWSUAF on launching a double-diploma on MSc program on «Food Processing Technology».
On November 15, 2023, Rector of KATRU Tireuov K.M. met with the Rector of NWSUAF Prof. Dr. Wu Pute. During the meeting, the terms for the implementation of the above-mentioned project on double-diploma education, academic mobility, joint implementation of research and other important issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed. During the meeting the idea of establishing a «Kazakh-Chinese scientific, educational and technological Hub» at the premises of KATRU was also discussed and jointly agreed upon.
The Hub will be used as the center, where the Kazakh-Chinese cooperation in the field of university education, research and science, professional technical trainings, practical trainings, and other activities will be carried out.
The rector of the NWSUAF also noted that KATRU is one of the important strategic foreign partners of the university in implementing international cooperation within the framework of the «One Road, One Belt» initiative.
The KATRU delegation discussed and agreed with the colleagues from the NWSUAF on the implementation of academic mobility, joint training and seeking funding for the implementation of research projects with the participation of Kazakh and Chinese researchers, including young scientists and students from both universities. Representatives of NWSUAF demonstrated the KATRU delegation the work carried out at Key national laboratories, processing lines and research experimental trials located on the territory of the NWSUAF.
NWSUAF and KATRU agreed to further develop mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation.
